The Loughborough University was founded in 1909 as a small Technical Institute in Loughborough. In 1966 the institute attained the status of a university, and became UK's first technological university. Today, the Loughborough University has over 12,000 full-time students.

It is centrally located and well-connected by road, rail and air. London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester are all within a two-hour distance. The East Midlands Airport is 7 miles away.

Accommodation : The Loughborough University has one of the largest campuses in the UK, with eight catered and seven self-catering halls of residence. All accommodation consists of single study bedrooms with shared kitchen and bathroom. The university Accommodation Services also assists students in arranging private sector accommodation.
Scholarships : Full-time Undergraduate UK students are subject to the Local Education Authority Grant and the Research Council Maintenance Grants. Apart from this, there is the Access to Learning Fund for UK students and the Emergency Payments Fund for EU and International students. The FE Bursaries are available for UK Foundation Year Students. All the financial support programs are administered by the Loughborough University.
