East London University - England

The East London University or UEL has over 19,000 students and is one of the top 10 Modern Universities for Research based programmes. It is situated at the heart of London. West Ham Technical Institute, South East Essex Technical College & School and the North East London Polytechnic Institute amalgamated and formed the East London University in the year 1992. The University has three separate campuses.

Dockland Campus: The North Building, AVA Building, the Knowledge Centre, the Business School & Library and the Students Village are all situated inside this campus premises.

Stratford Campus: This campus opened in 2006 and consist three main departments - Clinical Education in Podiatry, Physiotherapy and Sports Science.

Barking Campus: The Lifelong Learning Centre is located here.

Courses and Programmes:
The courses are divided into three main categories. The University also provides Doctorate and Research Degrees.

  • Undergraduate/ Postgraduate : There are few special programmes designed for the undergraduate and postgraduate students,
    1. Single Honours programmes
    2. Major/ Minor combinations
    3. Joint Combinations
    4. Extended Degree Programmes
    5. Higher National Certificate & Diploma Programmes
  • Distance Learning : The University provides facilities for the off-campus students following an organized but flexible schedule. This is done with the help of the postal service.
  • Short & part-time courses: The University offers a huge range of degree programmes for the part-time students.

Accommodation :
All the three campuses have their own Residential Services Office that offer both On Campus as well as Off Campus Accommodation. The Service Office also provides Private Accommodation, but does not bear any responsibilities for the same.

Scholarship Programmes :
The Scholarship Programmes are available in two categories and the applicants must fulfill the required criteria.
  • Undergraduate Scholarships: The full-time undergraduate programme offers a scholarship of £1,000.
  • Postgraduate Scholarships: For Upper Second Class Honours Undergraduate Degree holders the amount is £2,000.
    For Lower Second Class Honours Undergraduate Degree holders the amount is £750.


Library :
The Library and Learning Service is together known as the LLS. The Library is equipped with updated Books, Journals, Video's, DVD's other Electronic resources.
