The forerunner of Cranfield, known as the College of Aeronautics was established in the year 1946 which ultimately led to the creation of the Cranfield Institute of Technology. In 1993, The Queen In Council approved a change in the name of the institute and since then it is known worldwide as Cranfield University.Now the University has three campuses at Cranfield, SILSOE, and Shrivenham. It is not only recognized as the best institute for aeronautics, but has also become a renowned centre in Europe for applied research, development and design.This is an entirely Postgradute University.
