Liverpool University - England

The Liverpool University was founded in 1881 as the University College Liverpool. Later in 1903, the university received its charter and became the University of Liverpool. Today, the university has over 19,000 registered students from all over the world.

Location :
The Liverpool University is located in Liverpool, UK. The campus is at a very short distance from the nearest mainline station at Lime Street. The National Express Coach Station at Norton Street is also located near the campus. Eight miles from the university is the Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

Library & Learning Resources : The library at the Liverpool University provides printed and electronic resources to cover all the subjects taught at the university. There are a number of library sites located at the campus, and also departmental libraries. PCs, DVD and video players and study rooms are provided for students. Photocopying, printing and inter-library loan services are available at the library.

Accommodation : The Liverpool University offers guaranteed accommodation to the undergraduate students in their first year. Catered accommodation is provided in the Halls of Residence both on and off campus. The postgraduate accommodation is on campus, within walking distance of the city. Self-catering single study bedrooms and self-contained flats are the two types of accommodation available for postgraduate students. Accommodation is also guaranteed for international Foundation Year students.

Scholarships : The Liverpool University participates in several scholarship schemes for international students. Academic merit, rather than hardship, is the basis on which most of the scholarships are awarded. The students require holding an offer of a place on a course at the university before they can apply for the scholarship.
