The Liverpool John Mores University was originally founded in 1825 as the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts. The university achieved its current name and profile in 1992, by becoming one of UK's 'new generation' universities. Liverpool John Mores University now has over 24,000 students from across the globe.

Accommodation : The Liverpool John Mores University guarantees accommodation to all first year students. Accommodation is located at the city centre. Self-catering accommodation is offered, with shared kitchen and bathroom. However, a small number of self-contained studio apartments are also available at a higher rate. All accommodation is located near the teaching buildings.
Scholarships : The Liverpool John Mores University offers a number of scholarships to full-time, undergraduate UK and EU students, based on academic merit. A number of bursaries and maintenance grants are also available. For postgraduate students, only those studying MA in Social Work can apply for a bursary to General Social Care Council. For international students, the university offers a number of 1000 GBP bursaries and some sports scholarships. Apart from this, a number of scholarships for international students are available from the British Government, the Royal Society and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. The Marshall Scholarships are available for US students.
