The Institute of Education was founded in the year 1902.It is famous for research, teacher training, higher degrees and consultancy in education.

COURSES OFFERED:
The institute provides part-time, full time and distance-learning post-graduate courses. The most widely attained course in this institute is the PGCE or the Postgraduate Certificate in Education. They also offer research degrees like Associate of the Institute of Education, Doctor in Education, Doctor in Educational Psychology etc. apart form these it offers a B Ed Honors degree and Foundation Degree for Teacher Assistant. There are also short courses available on different subject areas. There is an online masters program namely, M.A Applied Educational Leadership and Management. The institute offers a Centenary Scholarship for the international students. M.A in Clinical Education is the new Masters course introduced.
